Pre-Sales Manager (Region North)

We are seeking a Pre-Sales Manager to lead and further develop our Pre-Sales activities in region North, working with a team of highly professional Pre-Sales Engineers.

You will provide day-to-day management and mentorship of the team.  Your responsibilities will be to help drive sales forward from a technical perspective in cooperation with SUSE’s regional sales teams and take care of the optimal representation of skills in the Pre-Sales team according to our most important strategies and go-to-market topics.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To manage, build and develop a team of highly professional Pre-Sales Engineers, giving each team member support and guidance to maximize their success and satisfaction with their job.

  • To take responsibility for the right coverage in skills and capacity of the Pre-Sales team for all major SUSE technologies that are relevant to maximize our success in revenues and strategic directions.

  • To support our go-to-market strategies and tactics from a technical solution level with the SUSE management team.

  • To develop and maintain a high degree of expertise of the Pre-Sales team paired with an optimal network into and out of SUSE.

  • To guide and develop the Pre-Sales team to provide Pre-Sales excellence in complex customer engagements including the promotion of our innovation products according to our go-to-market strategies.

  • To promote SUSE technology and strategies on major events as a trusted advisor for Open Source and SUSE products related topics.

  • To support the SUSE sales teams and the sales teams of our partners to setup and drive sales initiatives to maximise revenues for SUSE product portfolio and services.

  • To support and review the solution and sales approaches of everyone in your team to maximize the success of their engagements and to build repeatable best practices.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 4+ years of leadership in a Pre-Sales or professional services role

  • 8+ years of work in Pre-Sales or professional services

  • Strong background in the sales process

  • Ability to analyse opportunities, pipeline and forecast ensuring Pre-Sales are focused, resourced and skilled to undertake these commitments.

  • Ability to create positive outcomes when facing difficult situations

  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders across all areas of the business.

  • Experience in coaching and developing employees

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Independent and takes responsibility/ownership.

  • Ability to take challenges and shape them into manageable and solution-oriented tasks.

  • High integrity – makes and keeps commitments.
