Unit4 has announced that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (the council) has selected Unit4 ERPx and Talent Management solutions to deliver a flexible, next generation finance, HR and payroll system that can develop with the needs of the council. They are also part of Unit4’s ERPx early adopter programme.
Based in Hampshire, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council employs 580 people and serves a population of circa 176,000 citizens. The council operates a budget of £170m and is responsible for providing and commissioning a significant range of services. Through an industry best practice implementation approach, the council will replace legacy finance and HR systems that are no longer fit for purpose with an integrated, intuitive and agile next-generation cloud ERP platform.
The council will also improve operational efficiency and reduce costs by streamlining processes and optimising projects in the face of mounting budget pressures. Through Unit4’s public sector implementation model, they can ensure rapid time-to-value with the generally accepted financial and personnel controls and standards which adhere to UK policy and regulations including GDPR.
With a proven-track record of supporting council transformation projects, the council and Unit4 will collaborate with elite implementation partner Embridge Consulting to deliver the implementation and deployment of the Unit4 solutions.
Chris Richards, regional president of UKI at Unit4, said: “Unit4 helps government bodies to realise their transformation goals, with agile solutions to boost productivity, reduce costs, and allow them to effectively plan for the future, which enables them to improve citizen value. Our solutions not only support the council to transform how their people work, but also deliver on their collaboration and digital strategies, freeing up resources to focus more on the work that matters – serving their citizens.”
Emma O’Brien, founder and CEO of Embridge Consulting, added: “We are excited to be working alongside Unit4 and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council on this project. Our combined industry experience will help transform the council’s digital future with Unit4’s people-centric solutions, so that they can better serve their people and citizens.”
