Workday Rising reveals “mass EMEA expansion scheme” success

Workday EMEA mid-size enterprise success

At its Rising EMEA conference in Barcelona, Workday has announced continued momentum and customer wins with medium enterprise customers in the EMEA region.

The vendor has added more than 130 new EMEA-based medium enterprise companies to its customer roster over the last 12 months, including British retailer Crew Clothing, German football club Borussia Dortmund, Italian chocolate and gelato retailer Venchi and Norwegian insurer Fremtind Forsikring.

The series of wins follow the launch of Workday’s EMEA accelerator last year, at its Rising conference in Stockholm, in an effort to support its rapid mass expansion scheme in the region. This news no doubt contributes well towards Workday’s steep $10bn revenue target by 2025, as the HR and finance software vendor works to welcome more industries, countries and partners to its growing ecosystem.

Both existing and new customers are said to have increased activity for the vendor, as organizations seek to streamline HR and financial operations and digitize manual processes, in addition to harnessing Workday’s AI offering.

Workday customers also report having more time to do strategic work and a reduction in applications used in manual processes. Coventry Building Society in the UK has notably reported a close to 70 percent reduction in month-end process spreadsheets alone.

Workday Launch, a pre-configured version of Workday, has also been named by the firm as a contributing factor to its expansion. Configured based upon thousands of previous successful deployments, Workday Launch allows Workday solutions to be implemented over 40 percent faster than if it were done traditionally. It also allows smaller companies to spread the cost of implementation over the contract period to remove the initial barrier to implementation.

Jonathan Randle, vice president, medium enterprise, EMEA, Workday said: “Medium-sized businesses across EMEA want the same digital transformation capabilities as larger, multinational companies, but often they have smaller teams that are busy keeping the lights on with their existing technology.

“Workday’s technology and deployment approach enables us to deliver business transformation for these smaller companies, with fast time to value. With Workday AI at the core of the Workday platform, we enable our customers to achieve more with their smaller teams, and we look forward to welcoming many more forward-thinking medium-sized companies into the Workday community.”
