The release, the second of Acumatica’s semi-annual updates, is packed with a redesigned user interface, powerful embedded AI tools, and deep industry-specific innovations.

According to Jani, Acumatica’s 2025 R2 balances the technological advancement in AI with the human element. After extensive customer collaboration, the new modern User Interface (UI) is now the default experience. It moves beyond a simple facelift, offering deep personalization that allows users to configure every screen from fields and tabs to entire layouts without creating IT bottlenecks.
This focus came directly from customer feedback. Jani shared a revealing anecdote during the roundtable: “When we spoke about AI with our customers, I had three customers that came back and said how about human first?”

- Distribution: Advanced Order Management featuring Order Fulfillment Orchestration automates warehouse selection to optimize for speed and cost. The AI-assisted system considers inventory, shipping costs, and even customer preferences to streamline fulfillment.
- Manufacturing: Significant performance improvements in Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) have reduced processing times from hours to minutes. Enhanced lot and serial traceability provide metadata tagging at the lot level for compliance and quality control.

First unveiled at Acumatica’s Summit 2025 in January, AI Studio is now generally available, delivering on the promise to democratize AI within the ERP. Jani noted that the solution is a configurable toolkit that empowers business users and partners to create their own automations by describing the desired workflow in plain English.
This engine can automate complex tasks, such as summarizing support ticket histories or generating rich product descriptions. It combines an LLM automation engine with an anomaly detection engine, allowing it to not only execute tasks but also find insights and feed them into automated processes.
