Google Cloud and New Delhi-based multi-national telecoms firm, Bharti Airtel, have announced a long-term collaboration to deliver cloud solutions to businesses in India. 

The partnership will provide Airtel’s customers with advanced solutions from Google Cloud, speeding up cloud adoption and modernization. Together, they aim to tap into India’s burgeoning public cloud services market, which is expected to reach $17.8bn by 2027. 

Airtel will also offer cloud-managed services to its extensive customer base which includes over 500 million customers in 17 countries across South Asia and Africa. 

Combining their expertise in connectivity and AI technology, the companies will create top-tier AI/ML solutions. Airtel will leverage its data to train these solutions, delivering enhanced value to its customers. The offerings include geospatial analytics for trend analysis, predictive insights, market assessment, site selection, risk mitigation, asset tracking and more.

In addition to these, Airtel has developed an end-to-end IoT solution designed for the utility sector that combines connectivity, Google Cloud services and application software. 

The company will also leverage Google Cloud’s GenAI capabilities to transform its customer experiences and interactions across its offerings of mobile, broadband and digital TV,  streamlining its internal processes and operations. These capabilities will be extended to its B2B customers globally.
