Global automotive supplier Brose has completed a full migration of its central SAP systems to SAP Cloud ERP Private, highlighting how large-scale automotive manufacturing can move to the cloud without compromising production. According to the November 12 media statement published by SAP News, Brose shifted mission-critical workloads from internal data centers to Amazon Web Services (AWS) in just six months.
The move covered global manufacturing operations and included sensitive processes such as just-in-time and just-in-sequence production, all without disrupting customer deliveries. Brose CEO Stefan Krug said the cloud transition makes the company faster, more flexible, and more resilient, adding that the project shows the importance of digital transformation during challenging periods.
The outlet also noted that SAP views the initiative as a reference implementation for the automotive industry, showing what is possible when high-performance manufacturing environments adopt cloud ERP. Thomas Saueressig, a member of the SAP Executive Board, said the collaboration illustrates how cloud platforms can drive agility and resilience when implemented with precision. A separate media statement from Brose reports the company was recognized by SAP with an award for “technical excellence and speed in migrating to the cloud.”
Model for Cloud-Enabled Automotive Manufacturing
Brose’s cloud migration is an example of how SAP Cloud ERP Private can support intensive, time-sensitive manufacturing workflows at scale. The project reportedly has been framed as a model for cloud-enabled automotive manufacturing and can be a benchmark for other SAP cloud initiatives.
The project’s success reflects both Brose’s internal readiness and the close coordination among the company, SAP, AWS, and broader system partners. Looking ahead, Brose plans to continue strengthening its SAP cloud foundation to adopt emerging capabilities, including business AI, and support ongoing digital transformation efforts in the automotive sector.
What This Means for ERP Insiders
Cloud ERP is a proven option for complex, high-volume manufacturing. Brose’s cloud migration shows even organizations with just-in-time and just-in-sequence production can modernize their core systems without jeopardizing output, which strengthens the case for cloud adoption across other process-heavy industries.
Large-scale migrations no longer require long timelines or operational slowdowns. The six-month transition demonstrates to users that enterprises can move mission-critical ERP systems quickly and with continuity, provided they have strong coordination between internal teams and technology partners.
Cloud platforms create a foundation for future-ready capabilities. By shifting to SAP Cloud ERP Private, Brose positions itself competitively in the market. Additionally, its plan to further innovate with technology such as business AI is a strong signal that cloud ERP is becoming a prerequisite for next-generation automation and intelligence.
