Announced at the AWS re:Invent event, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Salesforce have decided to expand their long-standing partnership to broaden product integrations across data and AI and offer select Salesforce products on the AWS marketplace.

The expanded agreement promises to make it easier for customers to securely manage their data across both platforms as well as responsibly infuse the latest GenAI technologies into their applications and workflows.

Deloitte and IBM elevate eco-friendly initiatives for businesses

Deloitte has announced a global collaboration with IBM that will leverage the two companies’ sustainability solutions to help organizations accelerate emissions reduction strategies and make sustainability programs an embedded part of their core businesses.

Christina Shim, global head of product management/strategy and sustainability software, IBM, said: “IBM is committed to helping our customers around the world accelerate their journey in optimizing their business operations and achieving emissions commitments. That’s why we have added natural language processing into our sustainability offerings – to improve and help accelerate decision-making when it comes to activities that can affect the future of the planet, especially for Scope 3 emissions.”

Workday sees Q3 24 revenue leap as companies skill up

Workday has announced its Q3 financial results for fiscal 2024, demonstrating a 16.7 percent leap in total revenues from the third quarter of fiscal 2023, reaching $1.87bn.

As businesses are looking to scale and drive productivity in the tough macro environment, Workday’s co-CEO, Carl Eschenbach, explained during the earnings call that they can’t achieve both outcomes by simply hiring more, so the company is reaping the benefits of “leaders turning to Workday to help them reskill and upskill their workforce, all while delivering a great employee experience that helps them reduce attrition and ultimately drives productivity.”

de Novo and Embridge win Kent County Council transformation project

de Novo Solutions and Embridge Consulting have been awarded a local government contract by England’s largest local authority by population, Kent County Council, the public body has confirmed.

With local governments across the country experiencing some unsuccessful digital transformation projects over the past decade, the duo said they recognized the paramount importance of equipping clients for seamless business transformation and were determined to “revitalize the marketplace”.

Salesforce releases Q3 results in “huge year of transformation”

Salesforce has announced the results for its third quarter fiscal 2024, ending October 31, 2023 with strong total revenue growth of 11 percent year-on-year (YoY) reaching $8.72bn. 

In the earnings call, Salesforce’s C-suite proclaimed its success this quarter with CEO Marc Benioff, stating: “It’s also a huge year of transformation.”

The company’s success in Q3 lends itself to the 80 percent growth in deals valued at more than $1m, exceeding expectations. Not only that, its new product, Data Cloud has welcomed more than 1,000 new customers in this quarter alone.

IBM to address climate issues with geospatial AI tech

IBM has announced new efforts that apply its geospatial AI technologies to climate issues, such as the analysis of urban heat islands in the UAE, reforestation across Kenya and climate resilience in the UK.

These models present an opportunity to address climate change and create knowledge representations from petabytes and exabytes of climate-relevant data that can facilitate accelerated and streamlined discovery of environmental insights and solutions.
