ERP Today’s Robert Holland talked with Adriana Bassi, IT Executive Manager at Raizen about the company’s crucial transformation to SAP Business Suite on HANA. Coming from a situation where their existing SAP ECC 5.0 deployment has been running without mainstream maintenance for over a decade, including the associated cybersecurity and business continuity risks, the strategic move also aimed to help the organization create a path for a future deployment of SAP S/4HANA.
Raizen worked closely with SNP to perform a bluefield transformation, or selective data transition, in their move to Suite on HANA. Bassi highlighted SNP’s platform and team which proved vital in moving 35 industrial plans to the new environment in just two days, a day ahead of schedule. This was a significant improvement over a previous M&A project’s five-day downtime which impacted just eight plants.
Key benefits included dramatically reducing the downtime required for production close from over 24 hours to less than 4 in the new environment. In addition, Raizen was able to reduce the size of their database from over 14 terabytes to less than one terabyte which helped improved cloud cost efficiency. All this was possible from the collaborative approach that Raizen took with SNP and Accenture working as a single team to make the project possible.
Tune in to hear more about Raizen’s project and how they were one of the first companies in Brazil to work with SNP to make a successful transition to Suite on HANA.
