This is where Oracle Guided Learning partners like Fudgelearn come in, aiming to jump-start the process by embedding their experts within client teams.
One company that recently sought the help of Fudgelearn is The National Museum of Ireland (NMI) – based in Dublin, which boasts galleries of animals from Ireland, as well as geological exhibits from a total collection of two million scientific specimens.
Need for new staff training
As part of the Irish Government Shared Service Center set-up, NMI currently uses the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12, across finance and procurement, but the organization was facing challenges as the business structure meant that new staff was receiving little or no training on the Oracle system. So after a new appointment of an experienced financial director, Fudgelearn was approached with a request to train their team and staff, which in the past had received little Oracle training.
The main learning target areas were across the Oracle financials products, as well as Oracle procurement. Alongside this, it was required that the training materials be written in such a way that they would present as training manuals so that they could play the role of referral documents for future use by new starters.
Amid the pandemic’s restrictions, the training needed to be delivered virtually. After clarifying the business needs and the training approach, the Fudgelearn team generated the specific content and delivered the training remotely over a period of several weeks to ensure the retention of knowledge. Handbooks were also created as supporting materials for existing and future users.
Some of the covered components included Oracle EBS fundamentals, purchase to payments overview, creating purchase orders and PO receipts, credit control,
Oracle cash management overview, bank statement reconciliations as is process and FSG report creation.
“We agreed post-training review and refresher activity to ensure that the knowledge was retained by the staff,” a Fudgelearn spokesperson, said.
As a result of this training collaboration, all staff (including previously trained personnel) became proficient in the processes and use of the system, including the new finance director who was able to report effectively following the training, saving the department time and money.
