AWS announced on November 17 the launch of a new capability for its professional services. Its new Professional Services Delivery Agent will serve as a technical interface for AWS Professional Services (AWS ProServe) engagements.
It marks shift toward an AI-powered consulting model for AWS ProServe.
AWS expects the Professional Services Delivery Agent, and complementary AI agents, to improve project turn-around-times and reduce costs, while also delivering higher value results and maintaining enterprise-grade security.
The National Football League (NFL) has already given it a try.
AWS ProServe agents helped the NFL build AI agents that generate personalized recommendations for fantasy football fans, based on proprietary and public information, as well as player news and weather data.
“We went from zero to production in eight weeks,” according to Mike Band, senior manager for research and analytics at Next Gen Stats at the NFL. He said, “The framework automated routine development tasks, freeing our team to focus on performance optimization.”
AI Agents Introduce Hybrid Model for Professional Services
The AI agents AWS ProServe developed enables a hybrid model professional services model, allowing human consultants to utilize specialized AI agents.
This capability will enable AWS ProServe consultants to automate repetitive, time-consuming tasks, like code generation and testing, and focus on delivering ROI through performance measurement and strategy development.
The new Professional Services Delivery Agent processes customer input, such as meeting notes and architecture documents, to generate design specifications and implementation plans based on AWS best practices. Later in the project cycle, the Delivery Agent generates and tests code, creating deployment runbooks.
AWS reported that this capability has shortened the turn-around time on generative AI app development projects from 6–8 weeks to just days.
AWS also developed sub-agents for specific challenges faced by ProServe clients.
A sub-agent built on AWS Transform, which automates aspects of the migration process, conducts wave planning and dependency mapping, while also developing scheduling workloads and generating runbooks. AWS said this can cut app migration times down from 12+ months to just a few months.
What this Means for ERP Insiders
Faster project execution. The new AI agents AWS ProServe will employ automate labor-intensive tasks from client intake and project design to code generation and deployment runbooks. This will shorten turn-around time for technical work on enterprise systems, such as upgrades, migrations, and cloud modernization.
More consistent outcomes. AI agents reduce the scope for human error and improve consistency across multi-phase modernization and migration projects. The new AI agents from AWS ProServe should help map system dependencies more accurately, limiting the risk of misconfigurations during complex enterprise transformations.
A foundation for value-added services. When consultants invest their time in optimizing business processes, ERP strategy, and performance improvements, they can create more value for customers during their billable hours. With AI agents managing foundational tasks for AWS ProServe consultants, customers are better positioned for a return-on-investment.
