Oracle CloudWorld Shifts Focus, Becomes Oracle AI World

Oracle AI World

Key Takeaways

Oracle has rebranded its annual event to Oracle AI World, emphasizing AI's role in enhancing its cloud offerings, while still covering traditional subjects like Oracle Applications and Database.

The event features a substantial number of AI-focused sessions—314 out of 963—with discussions on how AI integrates into OCI, Oracle Database, and Applications, underlining its importance in business processes.

Cloud infrastructure and data are pivotal for AI adoption so the rebrand makes sense.

Oracle hosts an annual customer event in Las Vegas, and in recent years that event focused on the company’s cloud offerings and was called Oracle CloudWorld. However, with artificial intelligence (AI) top of mind for tech leaders and executives at many organizations, the vendor has shifted the focus for the event and rebranded it as Oracle AI World.

This doesn’t mean the content has completely changed for Oracle customers looking to attend and learn about the latest in Oracle offerings. There are still event tracks and sessions covering Oracle Applications, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Oracle Database, as well as customer successes and industry-specific content. However, the content in those topic areas will now also focus on how those products and technologies serve the purpose of enabling and utilizing AI.

In total, there are 963 sessions at Oracle AI World, with nearly a third of those sessions (314) focused on AI, including 118 AI sessions related to OCI, 46 related to Oracle Database, 90 related to Oracle Applications, 37 AI-focused customer success sessions, and 23 targeting specific industries.

Cloud infrastructure and data are vital in developing enterprise-grade AI. So, it makes sense Oracle would feature AI sessions across the OCI and Oracle Database content areas. Many of the Oracle Applications sessions will examine the impact of embedded AI in Oracle’s offerings, as well as how AI agents can impact business processes.

With more than 600 additional sessions covering more than AI, attendees can also expect to find the cloud-focused content they have come to expect from previous iterations of this event.

Oracle also has a longstanding partnership with IBM, which now extends to the delivery of AI to their shared customers. IBM and Oracle will team up for sessions covering topics such as driving AI value, agentic AI using IBM’s watsonx and Granite models on OCI, IBM and Oracle Cloud customer case studies, as well as sessions on finance, HR, and supply chain.

With so many AI sessions, the name change to Oracle AI World was warranted. However, it’s good to still see many sessions will be available for organizations continuing on their digital and cloud journeys but are still evaluating their foray into the world of AI.

What This Means for ERP Insiders

AI is now an essential part of digital organizations. Leading digital organizations are identifying business opportunities, creating use cases and at the forefront of adopting AI to drive value. Companies that are on a digital path should consider how AI can help them achieve their goals, including greater efficiency, better insight into the business, and the development of new products and services. Sessions at Oracle AI World reinforce the importance of AI in digital journeys.

Cloud is an enabler of AI adoption. Cloud infrastructures have been key in providing the toolsets and foundations for developing AI products and capabilities. There are many sessions on how OCI serves as a launching pad for AI models such as IBM watsonx and Granite.

Data is foundational to Digital and AI transformation. Oracle is, at its founding, a database organization, and data foundations are critical in driving digital business as well as providing the information that fuels AI algorithms. Organizations just beginning their AI adoption path should consider learning about the role that data plays in successful AI.
