ServiceNow has acquired Swarm64, a leader in database performance and scale. Swarm64’s database model combines analytical and transactional database capabilities that support intelligent workflows, helping ServiceNow meet evolving customer demands.

With Swarm64, ServiceNow will be able to help customers more efficiently manage data and execute complex, high-speed data analytics at a mass scale.

Expected to complete in Q3 2021, the acquisition shows ServiceNow is continuing its investment in open source and advancing its expertise in database performance – futureproofing the Now Platform to manage bigger, more complex workflows for the next era of hybrid work.

The move is particularly important for ServiceNow’s journey in becoming a $15bn+ company, as Swarm64’s technology will enable ServiceNow customers to query more data sources faster to drive better user experiences, business outcomes, and growth.

Joe Davis, SVP of platform engineering at ServiceNow, said: “Querying more data sources faster is a game changer in our efforts to make the future of business more productive and efficient. We’re thrilled to bring on board an outstanding team of database experts to help us meet the ever-evolving expectations and needs of customers, as we set our sights on becoming the defining enterprise company of the 21st century.”
