AI data company Snowflake has established a regional office in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), making Google Cloud generally available in the region to help the country’s data reside within its borders.
“With our local deployment on Google Cloud, organizations in the KSA can use a foundational data strategy to unlock deeper AI-powered data insights, driving business innovation, all while meeting the highest standards of data residency and sovereignty,” said Mohamed Zouari, General Manager, Middle East, Africa and Turkey at Snowflake.
Snowflake has also indicated that Saudi organizations such as Almarai are using Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud to better access data and drive business decision-making, all in a secure and governed platform.

Moreover, the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy and its Personal Data Protection Law of 2023 (PDPL) emphasize the nation’s priority of data protection and security. According to Snowflake, the KSA’s data analytics market will likely grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30% between 2024 and 2032, making data-driven insights and AI technologies an important growth driver.
