On November 11, Sage announced that its AI Trust Label is now live for Sage Intacct users in the US and UK. This marks the first phase in the global rollout of the AI Trust Label, which allows users to see how Sage Intacct’s AI capabilities meet leading trust standards.
The AI Trust Label, or badge, shows Sage Intacct users that the AI they are using meets key trust indicators relating to customer data usage, ethical performance, bias mitigation, accuracy, and compliance with global regulations.
Aaron Harris, chief technology officer at Sage, said the AI Trust Label demonstrates the company’s commitment to clarity and accountability: “Businesses should be able to understand how AI works and what it means for them without needing to be tech experts.”
Inspiration Behind AI Trust Label
Earlier this year, Sage conducted research into AI adoption among small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). According to its survey of 1,500 SMB leaders, which was conducted with Global Counsel Insight, most respondents have not yet fully adopted AI.
While 85% of respondents who trust AI actively use it in their work, and 94% of those users reported business benefits, 43% said their company has a low level of trust in AI. Only 48% of those with reservations use AI during their workday.
Sage designed the new AI Trust Label to increase user confidence in Sage Intacct’s AI capabilities by providing transparent information about the standards it employs.
For example, Sage has adopted:
- the AI Risk Management Framework, developed by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology to help companies manage AI risks;
- the AI Cyber Security Code of Practice, created by the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology to inform best cybersecurity practices;
- the Pledge for a Trustworthy AI in the World of Work, a France-led initiative designed to ensure companies prioritize AI tools that support workers.
While not legally binding, these guidelines overlap with laws, regulations, and best practices for developing and using AI.
Susan Vincent, managing director at Baker Tilly and a Sage Intacct partner, said, “This will help partners like us deliver AI solutions with confidence, knowing customers have clear insight into how it’s built and governed.”
What This Means for ERP Insiders
You do not have to be a tech expert to use AI. The new AI Trust Label helps accounting and finance professionals understand how AI features in Sage Intacct are built, governed, and aligned with global standards. That means AI-curious professionals can learn more before employing tools that automate routine accounting tasks.
The trust deficit may be closing at your office. Sage’s research shows those who use AI see its benefits, while those who do not simply do not trust it. Professionals who explore the AI Trust Label may feel more confident using AI tools designed to boost efficiency and deliver more actionable insights.
The AI Trust Label provides a new level of transparency. While Sage has shown a long-term commitment to globally recognized AI standards, the AI Trust Label brings that commitment to its users, allowing them to assess how AI tools use customer data, monitor accuracy, and maintain regulatory compliance.
