Automation Anywhere enables NHS Trust to roll-out flu-reporting bot

Automation Anywhere is expanding its collaboration with Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to launch its flu-reporting bot.

To prevent a winter ‘twindemic’ – where both influenza and COVID-19 spread – Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering the flu vaccine to all its staff team of more than 14,000 employees.

The Trust needed to report on the number of staff being vaccinated as well as flu-related absences and COVID-19 cases, and its previous reporting processes were manual-intensive and require significant administration time. Automation Anywhere’s flu-reporting bot has already captured updates for more than 10,000 staff vaccinations across multiple clinical sites, with automation of reporting saving nearly three months of cumulative administrative time.

Following the successful roll-out of the bot, the Trust is reviewing plans to extend the technology to support local test and trace processes and report on COVID-19 vaccinations.

Prince Kohli, Automation Anywhere CTO, said: “Healthcare facilities have been under tremendous pressure this year, and intelligent automation is helping to refocus precious time back to where it’s most needed – on the front line, centered on patient care. We are proud to support Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and are encouraged by how they continue to scale their use of RPA to empower staff and make better use of available resources to ensure the best patient care.”
