Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched a new B2B SaaS Accelerator for startups across the UK and Ireland, across industries.
Startups are encouraged to apply and participate in the four-week program that will allow them access to AWS cloud technology and credits, as well as the mentorship, training, connections and technical guidance necessary to build both innovative solutions in the cloud and successful companies.
According to Statista, the SaaS market is estimated to reach $12.66bn in 2023 and is expected to continue to experience exponential growth. AWS has previously supported startups such as Coinbase, Deliveroo, Klarna, Monzo and Stripe by giving them access to the same technology as major enterprises. Providing startup companies with the same opportunities, the access enables them to compete and grow in their markets.
The new AWS B2B SaaS Accelerator will focus on categories that include cyber security, AI and Big Data, healthcare and life sciences, sustainability and climate tech, ecommerce, developer tools, financial services and insurance, media and martech – which are seeing significant investment from venture capitalists.
To be selected, companies will need to show market visibility, existing traction, and use of AWS services. A judging panel including AlbionVC, Atomico, and Seedcamp will select successful applicants.
Tricia Troth, head of startups UK and Ireland, AWS, said: “The UK tech industry is full of potential. In 2022, data from the Digital Economy Council showed that fast-growing UK tech companies have continued to raise funds at near-record levels (£24bn). The AWS B2B SaaS Accelerator aims to accelerate the growth of b2b SaaS businesses, by offering startups access to the latest cloud technologies, AWS service credits, as well as business support and mentorship. Selected startups will also be able to build their network through access to a wider community of VCs and industry partners through the AWS startup ecosystem. We invite startups from the UK and Ireland at any level across cyber security, AI and Big Data, healthcare and life sciences, sustainability and climate tech, ecommerce, developer tools, financial services and insurance, media and martech to apply.”
Nadine Torbey, investment director, AlbionVC said: “This year more than ever the next generation of B2B SaaS leaders need the support networks and tools to help navigate uncertain market conditions. It’s a real privilege to support entrepreneurs building category leading companies. I am thrilled to be joining as mentor for the AWS B2B SaaS accelerator that is going to transform the growth and impact of startups in the program”.
