IBM and AWS partner to scale responsible GenAI

IBM and AWS have announced that during AWS re:Invent, the companies will unveil details about their collaboration to help businesses adopt responsible AI. The event will explore how IBM Granite models will be applied within AWS environments, particularly across Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Bedrock, as well as infrastructure and application layers.

The IBM Granite series of open, enterprise-grade foundation models promises to empower AWS customers to scale their AI journey with high-performance models tailored to their business needs, with the latest Granite 3.0 models already available on SageMaker.

The companies also shared that the event will highlight the launch of new integrations between IBM watsonx.governance and Amazon SageMaker, as well as other new security, data and automation capabilities – such as full stack observability for Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker with IBM Instana.

IBM and AWS added that at AWS re:Invent, IBM Consulting will be present to demonstrate how GenAI can help strengthen existing joint solutions including IBM Consulting Contact Center Intelligence, IBM Consulting AIOps on AWS, IBM Consulting Digital KYC and IBM Consulting Supply Chain Ensemble. 

Users will be able to witness how IBM Consulting is helping develop custom solutions using Amazon Q to meet specific business needs including creating new applications, integrating Amazon Q into existing systems or developing custom APIs.

Among other news on AWS partnerships, SAP has recently announced the continuation of its relationship with the BBC by transitioning IT systems to the cloud for finance, HR and procurement via RISE with SAP on Amazon Web Services.
