Microsoft Inspire 2022 saw Redmond introduce a series of updates, new partner opportunities and changes at the virtual event.

Of big interest is Microsoft Cloud for Sovereignty, which will enable public sector customers to build and digitally transform workloads in the Microsoft Cloud whilst meeting their compliance, security, and policy requirements.

The product will allow its public sector customers to ‘harness the full power of Microsoft Cloud’ and aims to introduce more controls over customer data and increase transparency to operational and governance processes of the cloud. The solution offers governance, security, transparency and sovereign technology to support the digital transformation of government customers.

In addition to Microsoft Cloud for Sovereignty, Inspire 2022 saw the release of Microsoft Digital Contact Centre Platform. Utilized in the program are Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Power Platform, and Nuance AI. The last of these was recently acquired by Redmond for the headlining sum of $19.7bn.

The contact centre release offers AI capabilities which power self-service experiences, live customer engagements, collaborative agent experiences, business process automation, advanced telephony, and fraud prevention capabilities.

Charles Lamanna, corporate vice president, business applications and platform at Microsoft, said: “In today’s digital world, brand reputation is synonymous with customer experience, including the quality of customer care. Consumers expect effortless, consistent, and secure experiences across any point of contact they choose–in fact, their brand perception and customer loyalty depend on it.

“With the stakes this high, companies need a comprehensive yet flexible solution to modernize their customer care experience. We are thrilled to introduce the Microsoft Digital Contact Center Platform, an open, extensible, and collaborative contact centre solution designed to deliver seamless customer journeys.”

Microsoft Inspire 2022 was held across July 19-20, with the company due to announce its Q2 earnings tomorrow, July 26.
