Sales and Purchasing Agents Target Delivery Promises and Purchasing Delays

The Sales Agent addresses two workflows that sit at the center of order fulfillment. In the Customer Delivery Promise workflow, sometimes referred to as ATP/CTP, the agent checks open inventory levels and component requirements, then analyzes incoming supply to help form a delivery commitment a sales team can stand behind. The second workflow, Lot Trace and Recall, tracks items by lot number, identifies which orders are affected by a given lot, and generates a recall or action list for impacted customers. Both functions extend the lot and serial traceability already built into Rootstock’s manufacturing module into an agent-driven process that surfaces information at the point a sales representative needs it.

The Purchasing Agent applies a parallel logic on the supply side. Its Purchase Order Expediting workflow analyzes delays in incoming purchase orders, identifies which sales orders and work orders are affected when a due date slips, and points to alternative supply sources. A second workflow carries the same lot tracing and recall logic into the purchasing context, giving procurement teams visibility that matches what the Sales Agent provides on the customer-facing side. Rootstock says both agents were co-created with a group of manufacturing customers through its AI Council, with the goal of building the agents into the platform’s architecture rather than adding them on top of it.

Neither agent has moved beyond active pilot status. Rootstock has been explicit that the agents are running with select customers rather than released broadly, so adoption patterns and measurable outcomes outside those pilot accounts are not yet established.

Security, Financial, and Usability Enhancements Round Out the Release

AccessGuard represents Rootstock’s first native enterprise security offering, delivered as an add-on to the core ERP. It applies access controls at the company and division level, so a user only sees the records their role and entity assignment authorize. A multi-entity manufacturer running several divisions or subsidiaries on one Rootstock instance would see this segmentation change how data visibility gets configured and audited. Entity-level access control of this kind is a standard governance requirement across multi-entity organizations, particularly where audit and compliance functions need assurance that financial and operational data stay separated by legal entity.

The release also reworks how finance teams reconcile bank activity. Rootstock has rebuilt its Bank Statement Workbench with embedded bank connectivity and enhanced auto-reconciliation processing, aiming to reduce the manual matching work reconciliation has traditionally required. That update comes paired with expanded support for European and Canadian operations and deeper integration with third-party accounting platforms, extensions aimed at manufacturers running financial operations across more than one country or currency. Automated reconciliation and embedded bank feeds have become a common feature across ERP financial modules, generally aimed at shifting finance staff time away from manual matching and toward exception handling.

A smaller but customer-driven change rounds out the release. RootForms documents can now export to Word format in addition to the existing PDF option, a feature Rootstock says came from a customer request submitted and highly voted through its Idea Factory process. It is a narrower update than the agent pilot or AccessGuard, but it shows how the release folds larger platform investments and specific customer-requested fixes into a single cycle.
