ServiceNow has acquired DotWalk, a company that automates upgrades and testing of ServiceNow applications, to increase speed and agility in upgrading applications.
The deal will enable the two companies to map business processes and workflows on the Now Platform and proactively identify the tests needed for application changes.
Delivering both constant innovation and consistently great experiences with software offerings is becoming a critical business imperative in the new world of hybrid work. The acquisition means ServiceNow customers will save time in testing application changes, freeing up developers’ time to focus on higher-value business activities.
DotWalk’s AI-powered regression testing deciphers the optimal number of tests and steps to take for specific instances that go beyond the detail and accuracy achieved by humans. Using intelligent automation, it identifies and validates error sources that can arise within application upgrade processes when analysing logs in the background. This ultimately improves overall application performance and allows customers to accelerate their digital transformation.
In a blog post announcing the acquisition, Joe Davis, senior vice president for platform engineering at ServiceNow, commented: “ServiceNow is committed to helping customers remain agile and innovative. Running natively on our platform, DotWalk will build upon ServiceNow’s existing foundation and strategy for automation. This will reduce the cost of ownership at ServiceNow, furthering our vision to be the defining enterprise software company of the 21st century and allowing customers to move faster and deliver more value to their businesses.”
