ServiceNow bolsters Now Platform and Microsoft AI partnership

ServiceNow has announced significant expansions to its Now Platform’s capabilities, offering businesses new, faster and more efficient ways to work. Updates include new Finance and Supply Chain Workflows, generative AI solutions, an AI‑powered solution for employee growth and skills development, plus what’s billed as the industry’s first end‑to‑end observability solution for cloud applications.

Additionally, ServiceNow has announced a new offering to digitally transform the critical work of non‑profit organizations with the launch of ServiceNow.org and new RiseUp with ServiceNow partner courses to build on the goal of upskilling one million individuals on the platform by the end of 2024.

Intelligent automation for finance and supply chain workflow

ServiceNow is unveiling new automation and AI capabilities to help businesses simplify complexity across the enterprise, boost productivity and unlock new value all on a single platform.

Being launched are New Finance and Supply Chain Workflows that use AI, machine learning and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to help organizations modernize mission‑critical processes like procurement, accounts payable and supplier management through cross‑enterprise digital workflows. This new workflow provides solutions that connect existing ERP systems and harness AI to turn insights into action, so customers can potentially move faster and realize more value from their technology investments.

AI capabilities

Furthermore, ServiceNow’s new generative AI solutions for the Now Platform expand its AI functionality by applying it to enterprise applications for fast, more intelligent workflow automation, as made possible by the Microsoft Midas touch. New capabilities include a ServiceNow Generative AI Controller, which will allow organizations to connect ServiceNow instances to OpenAI and Microsoft Azure OpenAI, and Now Assist for Search, which aims to bring the power of generative AI to Portal Search, Next Experience, or Virtual Agent.

This solution is enabled through the expanded ServiceNow and Microsoft strategic partnership.

“ServiceNow’s intelligent end‑to‑end Now Platform is uniquely positioned to deliver generative AI’s full potential to customers and help them take speed, efficiency, and great experiences to the next level,” said CJ Desai, president and chief operating officer at ServiceNow.

“By augmenting the Now Platform with powerful new generative AI features and including access to Azure OpenAI Service, we are giving customers a built‑in action layer of intelligence.”
