Transformation World 2026 · Mandaco
Stefan Schneider’s connection to SNP goes back more than a decade, to a thorny 2013–2014 asset integration during his years at Siemens, where SNP’s solution proved decisive. Today he leads Mandaco, an umbrella media house spanning content, events, and learning and development — anchored by “The M&A Review,” the oldest M&A magazine in the German-speaking world, now expanded into the UK with the University of Bristol. His mission is to bridge academia and practitioners, and to bring corporates, private equity, and consultancies closer together across the M&A community.
“AI shortens timelines and raises quality — but the human in the loop is more important than ever, because you must know what the outcome should be.”
Reflecting on a panel with PwC, SNP, and Interpass, Schneider argues that AI’s role in M&A is powerful but bounded. Used without judgment, it can produce results that don’t reflect reality, which is why professionals must first master the end-to-end process — then know where AI can be trusted. Above all, he stresses interpersonal skills: communication, presentation, and negotiation. M&A ultimately comes down to two people who must trust each other at the handshake — and that human factor is exactly why he built learning and development into Mandaco.
