Workday has appointed HR Path as an authorized value-added reseller in the UK and Ireland, extending its partner-led route to market for small and medium-sized businesses in Ireland and Scotland. HR Path said the expanded collaboration will allow it to directly sell Workday solutions to SMBs in those markets while combining licensing with consulting, implementation, and operational services. The model gives customers one partner relationship across selection, procurement, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
The appointment comes as Workday expands its value-added reseller (VAR) ecosystem across EMEA. ITPro reported that Workday’s expanded EMEA VAR ecosystem includes HR Path in the UK and Ireland alongside Alight, Deloitte, HSO, Medius, and Strada in other EMEA markets. In June, Workday said the wider VAR strategy gives mid-sized organizations access to regional partners with local implementation expertise as they modernize fragmented HR and finance systems and prepare for AI-driven innovation.
The move is also tied to Workday’s positioning around agentic AI. HR Path described 2026 as a pivot year for Workday to deliver a platform “fundamentally powered by agentic AI,” while Workday has framed its EMEA VAR expansion as a way to help organizations deploy secure, compliant, AI-ready business platforms through trusted regional partners.
Channel Model for Leaner Transformation Teams
The HR Path model is designed to reduce the number of handoffs in Workday adoption. As an authorized VAR, HR Path will act as a single point of contact across strategic advisory, technology selection, procurement and licensing, implementation, deployment, support, and continuous optimization.
That structure is particularly relevant for SMBs with limited internal IT capacity. Smaller finance and HR teams often need the same platform capabilities as larger enterprises, but they may not have the program management depth to coordinate software selection, contracting, integration, change management, and post-go-live support across multiple parties.
Daniel Pell, Vice President and Country Manager for the UK and Ireland at Workday, said the partnership is intended to accelerate time to value for growing organizations across Ireland and Scotland. He said HR Path brings local experience and hands-on delivery, while Workday brings a secure, AI-powered platform for modernizing HR and finance functions.
George Gabriel, Partner at HR Path, said the VAR model is a logical next step in supporting SMBs from strategic decision-making through operational implementation. HR Path said it is also increasing investment in advanced training, Workday certifications, and joint enablement programs with Workday, including early access to agentic AI product updates and roadmap guidance.
What This Means for ERP Insiders
Cloud ERP vendors are using partners to make mid-market adoption less complex. Growing organizations want enterprise-grade HR and finance systems, but many still need local advisory, implementation support, and operating help to make transformation realistic. For SMB leaders and regional systems integrators, partner-led delivery will become a bigger part of how advanced cloud platforms reach markets that cannot absorb enterprise-style deployment overhead.
Agentic AI will sharpen the need for trusted implementation channels. As vendors embed more AI into core HR and finance workflows, customers will need guidance on process design, data protection, compliance, change management, and user trust before automation can scale. For Workday partners and HCM transformation teams, AI readiness will increasingly depend on practical enablement, not only product availability.
The reseller model can reshape competition in HR and finance ERP. Direct sales alone can limit reach in fragmented regional markets, while a strong VAR network can turn local expertise into a growth engine. For ERP vendors, channel leaders, and mid-market buyers, the next competitive test will be whether partners can deliver faster value without weakening governance or post-go-live accountability.
