Epicor has released Kinetic, a cloud-based ERP solution built with manufacturers, for manufacturers.
The company insists that there should be no one-size-fits all ERP solution. As such, it designs tailored, custom-aligned technology platforms that it says are ‘laser focused’ on the needs of the end-to-end supply chain industries it exclusively serves, one of which is manufacturing, obviously.
The Kinetic ERP system provides a low-code (and in some areas, drag-and-drop) programming tool to configure screens to user’s precise requirements.
Epicor piloted Kinetic in a controlled release environment with over 100 customers and implemented (as functional tweaks and enhancements) nearly 500 pieces of customer feedback.
Embedded learnings, avec fromage
The software here features so-called ‘embedded learnings’ (which is presumably another way of saying pre-configured best-practice functionalities, or in other words, software functions that work) as well as social collaboration tools that use real-time data.
Epicor president Himanshu Palsule points to this software’s browser-based User Interface (UI), which he claims is now simpler and more intuitive.
“The new Application Studio tool offers low-no code customisation so customers can build complex configurations with visual impact smartly and produce web deployable designs for use in e-commerce sites. Kinetic now allows users to configure applications with layers using a visual designer with rules and events, move elements around with drag and drop functionality, and preview and validate changes before going live,” said Palsule and team, in a product launch statement.
Regulated industries
Kinetic is the a multi-tenant cloud solution designed to meet the needs of medical device manufacturers for software validation under USA FDA regulations. In addition, Kinetic is achieving CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) certification for Aerospace & Defense manufacturers.
Also in this platform we find a new security feature for document workflow approvals and a new custom revision numbering feature for Medical Device and A&D manufacturers.
Along with these functions, there are also new purpose-built API endpoints for real-time connectivity and error messages that support over ten standard demand-side and supply side documents.
