Microsoft and SAP share the love in new mega deal

Microsoft has chosen RISE with SAP on Microsoft Cloud, making it the first public cloud provider to adopt the solution. Microsoft and SAP have a long track record of collaboration and the Redmond giant has run large parts of its internal operations on SAP ERP for decades. However, the announcement that Microsoft has signed up to RISE with SAP to deploy S/4HANA Cloud (private edition) is still a huge endorsement of SAP’s cloud credentials - considering Microsoft has its own cloud ERP solution in the form of Dynamics 365.

SAP replaces own legacy system at UK council for £7.3m

Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) is implementing a major upgrade to its ERP system using SAP’s RISE service. The UK authority signed a £7.3m contract with the German software giant, marking a milestone in SAP’s push with its RISE with SAP program into the UK’s public sector.

Strong SAP results reveal record cloud performance

For the fourth quarter, the company saw rapid expansion of current cloud backlog to €9.45bn, up 32 percent. Driven by strong adoption of RISE with SAP, S/4HANA current cloud backlog is up 84 percent to €1.71bn, while cloud revenue increased by 28 percent to €2.61bn.

ASDA chooses SAP as future digital platform

SAP has announced that Asda, the UK’s third largest supermarket chain with over 600 stores and 140,000 employees, has selected RISE with SAP S/4HANA on Microsoft Azure as the digital core for its future platform, supported by SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP Ariba solutions to digitalise procurement operations.

Cloud momentum has accelerated in the third quarter, with cloud revenue increasing by 20 percent to €2.39bn, current cloud backlog up 24 percent to €8.17bn and SAP S/4HANA current cloud backlog up 60 percent to €1.28bn.
