RISE with SAP

Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) is implementing a major upgrade to its ERP system using SAP’s  RISE service. The UK authority signed a £7.3m contract with the German software giant, marking a milestone in SAP’s push with its RISE with SAP program into the UK’s public sector.

SAP started 2020 with growing customer pressure from users, facing an End of Maintenance date of 2025, that were demanding more time to move away from Business Suite 7. This led to SAP extending the date [yet again] to 2027, with an option of support until 2030. 

For the fourth quarter, the company saw rapid expansion of current cloud backlog to €9.45bn, up 32 percent. Driven by strong adoption of RISE with SAP, S/4HANA current cloud backlog is up 84 percent to €1.71bn, while cloud revenue increased by 28 percent to €2.61bn.

SAP has announced it has been selected by Twinings Ovaltine to lead its transformation programme as it looks at ways it can better engage with its customers, while ensuring supply-chain reliability and operational efficiency.

SAP has announced that Asda, the UK’s third largest supermarket chain with over 600 stores and 140,000 employees, has selected RISE with SAP S/4HANA on Microsoft Azure as the digital core for its future platform, supported by SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP Ariba solutions to digitalise procurement operations.

Despite the travel disruption caused by Storm Arwen and the Omicron variant, it was fantastic to see so many people from across the SAP community come together at UKISUG CONNECT last week. It has been a long and challenging two years. But from listening to many of the customer sessions during the conference it’s clear that organisations haven’t stood still when it comes to their usage of SAP.

has announced strong financial results for Q3 ended 30 September 2021, showing a 20 percent year-on-year rise in cloud revenue to €2.39bn and a surge in RISE with SAP adoption.
